CREATION STEWARDSHIP:  CORNERSTONE OF CHRISTIAN CREDIBILITY

I spent the weekend at The Vineyard Church in Wheeling, West Virginia, pastored by Chris Figaretti, who contacted me in 2014 after reading my book The Marvelous Pigness of Pigs.  A deep friendship developed and this summer he asked me if I’d come up and do a one-day homestead seminar and then preach in the Sunday morning worship service. That’s what I did this past weekend.

If you think the Bible is the reason the conservative faith community disregards environmental care, I hope this sermon will help you realize such thinking isn’t Biblical. If you wonder why the faith community doesn’t practice food and farming integrity and you wish you could explain the interconnectedness of the physical and spiritual, this talk may help with your messaging.

At any rate, this was a precious and rare opportunity for me to present a Christian explanation for creation care.  I wish deeply that the faith community would latch onto our responsibilities as stewards of God’s stuff.  Here is the link to pull it up; it’s 45 minutes…https://www.vineyardwheeling.com/watch-online

Thanks for watching and thanks to Chris and The Vineyard Church for stepping bravely into this space.  Where are the rest of our church groups?
