Amish Farmer Stands for Food Freedom
Amos Miler is a horse and buggy Amish farmer in Pennsylvania who has a Personal Membership Assocation (PMA) of a couple thousand people who voluntarily choose his pasture-based food. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) has been tested in the courts and found to be “not in commerce” due to shared risk.
A PMA is one step beyond a CSA and has yet to be tried in court to see if it merits the same “non commerce” designation as CSAs. Amos is the point person for that legal showdown. I’ve known him for many years. Unfortunately, so far he has had terrible legal representation. Hopefully that will change and he’ll be able to see some light at the end of his tunnel. Thank you for watching.
